Computer Check-out :
To use a computer, a patron must:

•find an unoccupied computer,

•type in his/her library card number and PIN,
•have no overdue materials or late fines,
•for minors, parents must sign the Technology Use Policy (PDF) form.
Ask for help if you have any questions.
What we don't allow:

•Access by a minor to inappropriate material.
•Violation of state or federal obscenity laws.

•Hacking and other unlawful online activities.

•Invading the privacy of another user
•Downloading any non-library software.
•Using another patron's library card or PIN.
How Many? How Long?:
•One person to computer in the Gates Computer Lab. 2 people at the Stand-up and Children's computers.
•In the Gates Lab, patrons are allowed 1 hour on a computer. 30 minutes at the Stand-up & Children's computers.
•A patron is allowed 1 session a day.
What you need to know about Internet Filtering:
•By law, Dodge City Public Library is required to filter the internet to protect minors from potentially offensive materials.
•However, filtering software is not 100% effective.
• The library does not allow minors to access the internet without the parent/guardian signing the Technology Use Policy (PDF) form.
•A parent or guardian may retrict a minor's Internet use.
•Anyone over 18 may ask to have the filtering disabled for their session. Proof of age may be required.
•Any patron caught violating library policy will be asked to leave.

Is it true?:
The library cannot warrent material from the Internet, nor can we guarantee accuracy. The user must use his/her judgement about the accuracy of any information accessed from the Internet.
