From
the Director's Desk
As we go into August many of our summer activities are drawing to an end and we begin preparing for school activities. Here at Dodge City Public Library there are still summer time events taking place. New books to check out and special programs to attend are among a few of these events. On August 28th author Sherrilyn Polf will discuss and sign copies of her new book A Matter of Trust.
Special activities will be taking place at the circulation desk. We are going to be doing some remodeling so watch for something new there. During this time you may be routed to another area of the library to check books out. Please watch for signs when you enter the library. This is a new and exciting time for the library. This project is being made possible in part by donations from individuals and businesses in the community. If you would like to donate talk to any of the library staff.
Remember, Dodge City Public Library is your resource for information and casual reading. Be sure and stop by soon and watch for new happenings at the library.
Please drop us a line or send an email to me at cathyr@dcpl.info. If you have not been to the library lately, stop by and see what is new here.

Spotlight on Staff
Danielle Dougherty began working at Dodge City Public Library as the Youth Services Coordinator almost one year ago. She began in this position September 1, 2009. Danielle grew up in Arizona and received a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Arizona State University. After teaching a few years in Arizona she moved to Kansas where she received a Masters of Library Science at Emporia State University. While at work Danielle supervises the youth department, plans story times and programs for children, selects and orders materials for them to check out, and spends time helping our young patrons learn about the library. During her spare time she likes to read, watch movies and do embroidery. The next time you are in the library ask Danielle for a tour of the children’s department. |
